  10. The source code for Icon is the same for all platforms.
  11. What differs from platform to platform are configuration files,
  12. scripts for installation, and so forth.  In some cases, there
  13. are a lot of these.  For example, in the Unix distribution there
  14. are over 60 configuration directories for different flavors
  15. of Unix.  And for MS-DOS and OS/2 there are many directories for
  16. configuration for different C compilers.

  18. (There's an exception for the Macintosh, where we convert path
  19. specifications in include files from the ordinary one to the
  20. syntax the Macintosh uses.)
